Biography
Dr. Abdolvahab vahabzadeh Arasteh which known as A. Vahabzadeh was borne in an old aristocrat family at Ardebil city of Iran middle of 20th century. He started his primary school at age of 5th due to his early educational capacity; and fulfilled his high school at Safavy High school of his birth city with a distinguished grade (published).
Subsequently accepted to higher education in biological science at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad city as a sister University to the Georgetown; where finalized his B.Sc. Degree. Then spend his military service as a medical lieutenant at Officers College of Tehran; and employed at Medical school of the National University as a physiology instructor; where admitted for M.Sc. in medical physiology. Revolution and war postponed completion of his M. Sc. Degree. However; admission from the University of Oxford allowed him to continue his M.Sc.; then transferred to D. Phil in neurosciences. Traditional role and regulation between 3 Universities of Oxford, Cambridge, and Kings College London for clinical medicine of native graduate student of both Oxford and Cambridge Universities exceptionally allowed him to complete his clinical medicine course at Kings College of London while doing his D. Phil. at Oxford.
Dr. A. Vahabzadeh returned to Iran with first D. phil. In Neurosciences; and spend a year at Ardebil newly stablished Medical Science University as a rural area service; then transferred to the Iran University of Medical as an assistant professor in the Neuroscience stablishing the Neuroscience Unite at Tehran Institute of Psychiatry of Iran Medical school. The Neuroscience Unite carried out some 70 research projects supervising 5 medically qualified students as well as 62 M. Sc. Clinical psychologies and 3 PhD student of Neuroscience. Also neuropsychology, brain and behavior as well as neuropharmacology courses teaching carried out by Neuroscience Unit of him for M. Sc., PhD, MD, and Medical specialist students both in Iran University of Medical Sciences and elsewhere; including Tabriz and Tehran University of Medical Sciences. In 3rd dimension of his academic activity weekly Morning Class and Hard case was part of his Neuroscience Unit contribution.
His Neuroscience Unit also collaborate with Japanese Brain Research Institution of RIKEN transferring Psychosurgical technic and research idea in neuroscience.
Dr. A. Vahabzadeh was an active member of American Physiological Society (APS), International Society of Psychophysiology (ISP), British Neuroscience Association (BNA), European Federation of Neuroscience Society (FENS), and International Brain Research Organization (IBRO); and holder of academic prices. His Neuroscience Unit produced tremendous original data; which presented all over world via different congresses. His substantial contribution was neurochemical mapping of brain as well as propounding “hardware and Software” terminology for the both aspect of the brain for first time; which published and recorded.
Privatization allowed the head of the Institute of that time to sale out Institute as well as clinical building; so that the Neuroscience Unit was demolished and all personal books, journals, and research apparatus were possessed and taken over; and distinguish professorship position dispute the comity approval of fulfilment was suspended by the head. Having in mind that academic institution means by scientists; and otherwise become an ordinary building; whereas scientist remain with science without building; Dr. Vahabzadeh preferred to stay away dealing with his knowledge independently either by collaboration with academic institution at home or abroad. Although diplomatic fluctuation with western countries added another obstacle to his scientific activity; resent development in social media was provided a good chance to most scientist all over the world; and he made welcome to this chance to continue his scientific interest as his identity.
